TBW was originally established as a multi-shipper Dark Angel discussion and fan fiction forum between the early hours of New Years Eve 2002 and NY Day 2003 by two obssessed DA fans, Sorrow and Enigma.
The board was a hive activity for the first few months, and eventually Sorrow decided to create a fansite to accompany the message board, in order to provide Dark Angel news and fan fiction for those who aren’t particularly fond of forums, and provide an easy to navigate interface – the forum had grown so large, members were frequently getting lost within it. (We still hear cries of “help!” from time to time, but we’re not sure which area it’s coming from…)
Of course, thinking and doing are two completely unrelated things inside Sorrow’s head, and while she thought about making a fansite in late 2003, it didn’t actually get done until May 2004. (Actually, that’s surprisingly fast for Sorrow to get anything done.)
The fansite was originally hosted at Sorrow’s personal domain, Not Quite Human [dot] Net,
but moved to it’s own corner of the net on 1st August 2004 after her lovely boyfriend brought her this domain for a birthday present.
These days, updates to the site are few and far between, as family/life commitments make it nearly impossible for Sorrow to trawl the net for Cast News and of course the show has long finished. To date, The Broken World is one of the very last Dark Angel fansites left, and serves now as a memorial to what once once an amazing show.
