Jensen Ackles

Jensen Ackles shot an independent film a little over a year ago called ‘Ten Inch Hero.’ It hasn’t yet been released in theaters as it is still being showed at film festivals (the next of which is in Florida. I’ll give you another update on that when i get more information). In an effort for the film to gain popularity, a clip of Jensen Ackles as pierced, mohawked, punk rock dude, Priestley has been released on YouTube. You Can Watch It HERE!

Did you miss last night’s premiere of Supernatural? Or did you just love it so much that you need to own it? Well, for a limited time only, you can download The Magnificent Seven episode of Supernatural legally and for FREE on iTunes (in the US only). While you’re there, leave a great review to show some love for Jensen and Jared and the show.

Jensen Ackles will be attending Creation’s Supernatural/Smallville/Buffy convention in Chicago on November 10th and 11th along with Jared Padalecki (Sam) , Samantha Ferris (Ellen), Fredric Lehne (The Yellow Eyed Demon), Nicholas Brendon (Xander on Buffy), and Steve Carlson (musician and close friend of Jensen’s). Also, a few Australian Supernatural fans want a Supernatural convention. Why are the British and Americans the only ones getting to go to conventions? The Australian fans deserve a convention, and they’re doing everything they can to make it happen! There is a petition to sign requesting the All Hell Breaks Loose Oz Con HERE. There is also a lovely myspace page that you can check out with more in formation HERE.

Jensen Ackles in A Few Good Men
Earlier this month, Jensen Ackles returned to his home state of Texas to  do a play at the Casa Manana Theater titled A Few Good Men. You might remember a little movie by the same title, which was based off the play, starring Jack Nicholson and Tom Cruise. Jensen takes on Tom Cruise’s role as Lt. j.g. Daniel Kaffee, while Jack Nicholson’s role was given to Lou Diamond Phillips. Ackles has received rave reviews for his performance in the drama. Jensen said that he tried to forget Tom Cruise’s performance, and make the part his own.

So — think you can fill Tom Cruise’s shoes?

My biggest trepidation is finding my own take on it. I’m so familiar with the movie that when I’m reading lines, I keep hearing the movie’s version in my head. Trying to shake that out of my head and bringing my own take to the role is going to be my biggest challenge. Not to mention memorizing all those lines.

This morning, the CW announced that Supernatural would be picked up for the third season! This means another year of Dean’s sarcastic remarks, one night stands, and questionable eating habits. I can finally go to sleep without worrying (assuming that the finale tonight doesn’t give me anything to worry about….).

Also, Supernatural will be keeping it’s 9/8c timeslot (unfortunately, it will still have to fight against Grey’s Anatomy and CSI for ratings next year too).

Well my computer decided to pack it in quite seriously last weekend which delayed this update, but we got it back today and although it’s still the ancient dinosaur that takes five years to load anything and sometimes makes loud and somewhat constipated thunking noises that it was a few days ago, at least it actually goes again. Right? Now, on with the update I’ve been itching to make (and will only actually be relevant to the minority anyway.)

If like me, you reside in New Zealand, the long-awaited thought-it’d-never-get-here news that you need to hear is that both Jensen Ackle’s ‘Supernatural’ and Ashley Scott’s ‘Jericho’ are coming to our screens! FINALLY!!

Supernatural will be making it’s NZ debut on TV2, and ditto for Jericho which will be airing on TV3. Dates haven’t been released yet but within the next couple of weeks is the assumption. Hopefully, they won’t clash with each other… But I’m just sure they will. Grr.

Supernatural has been given the green light for season two. This means everything in the world to Jensen fans - except those of us in crummy old New Zealand who haven’t even seen season one yet *grumble grumble* (suppose if I had a faster connection I could dl the eps, but it’s just not the same. Supernatural picked up for full season|Okay I admit it, I’ve been exceptionally slack on the updates around here for a few months now - full time job, full time family, no time for spare time… (and I keep hitting the wrong keys as I hardly ever sit down at the ‘puter to type these days!)

So I wasn’t here in time to post about the pilot of Jensen’s new show Supernatural, but considering here in little old New Zealand I don’t have a hope of hell of seeing it any time soon anyway… *grumble grumble*

If you’ve seen Supernatural and would like to leave your feedback, or haven’t seen it and would like to share your grumblings on the injustice of living in a country that takes a decade or two to buy what every other country has already seen *kicks TVNZ* then hit the comment button on this post, or come along to the TBW forum and air your thoughts in the Jensen in Supernatural thread!

Oh, one more thing, Supernatural has been picked up for a full season. Click the link below for the full story. :)

Sci-fi thriller Supernatural is the latest series to be picked up for a full season.

The show, starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, follows two brothers in search of their father, fending off a relentless stream of evil forces on their way.

Over its first four episodes, Supernatural has grown to an average of 5.3 million viewers, backed by strong figures in the key demos. The order is for a total of 22 episodes.

“Supernatural has delivered in a huge way for us, with genuinely scary episodes every week, and it just keeps getting better,” said David Janollari, entertainment president at the WB. “Eric Kripke, McG and Bob Singer have done a terrific job executing their vision and we expect the show to be a long-term player at The WB.”

Supernatural will air in the UK on ITV from January.

Don’t forget you can discuss this show at TBW in the Jensen in Supernatural thread!

First up, WB have released a trailer for Jensen’s soon-to-be-premiering paranormal TV drama Supernatural which you can find here.

Secondly, check out the Gallery for recently uploaded images of Jensen, including a couple from Supernatural.

Last but not least, from TVIZ TV, a review of the pilot for Supernatural, and it’s all good news. As you can see for yourself…

Dean from Gilmore Girls (Jared Padalecki) and Jason from Smallville (Jensen Ackles) have their own spooky series. What was supposed to be (on paper) an eye candy show for schoolgirls (or horny boys for that matter) turned out to be, and believe me I was the first one to be surprised here, both widely entertaining and scary. I sure didn’t expect much so I was in for a big surprise, on the edge of my seat for 45 minutes. One of the best WB pilot I’ve seen in quite a while. Of course this is no Shakespeare, it’s just a spooky show for teenagers, but still what a fun show to watch. Ackles sure did the right thing by leaving that boring Clark Kent show for that one. Plus we’re now sure that Dean won’t ever come back to Stars Hollow. What a relief.
