October 2006

After a lengthy and unplanned hiatus, I am utterly relieved to announce that The Broken World [dot] org is FINALLY back online!

New to the site is a section called FAN COLUMNS where people are welcome to be all introspective and analytical (or whatever…) and write feature articles based on whatever characteristic of Dark Angel (show, fandom, cast) tickles their fancy. Care to write a 2000-page essay on Manticore or the mysterious disappearance of Lydecker or your thoughts on the… you know… whatever? Well chop it down to a page or two, run it through spell check and send it on it!

We’re now running on Wordpress - a move which resulted in total and encompassing mental lethargy as I tried to figure my way around WP and it’s various little hacks, but now it’s done, and as a consequence, don’t bother trying to click the links in the site banner because they no longer work. *sigh* Some of the pages are still a blank canvas, but I figured if I don’t get this baby back on the road now, it’ll be Christmas three years from now. Moving along…

I’ve finally created the voting forms for TBW Awards so if you’d like to vote for your favourite Dark Angel fan site, fan fiction or fan art from the nominated lists, please kindly drop everything you’re doing right this very second and check out this link: www.awards.thebrokenworld.org

It’s 7.30am Sunday morning and I’m snuggling down amid the duvets with my Dark Angel DVD box set. Why so early? Don’t know. Can’t sleep. Anyway, not often that I get to watch these babies anymore. Usually because I can never decide which ep to go with, so I end up watching none at all. This morning is different. I pour cold water into my mug of Nescafe (doh!) and figure where better to kick of the first TBW Editorial than with Dark Angel’s pilot episode?
